After-Hours HVAC Service — What Happens, Response Times, and Costs

What Counts as After-Hours Service

After-hours service applies to evenings (after 5 PM), weekends, and statutory holidays. During these times, we operate with a dedicated on-call technician rotation — the same licensed, experienced technicians who work during regular hours, not a separate or reduced-quality team. After-hours service bridges the gap between standard business hours and true 24/7 emergency response. It means you can get professional HVAC help during evenings and weekends without waiting until Monday morning or 8 AM.

After-Hours Response Times

Evening service (5 PM - 10 PM weekdays): typical response is 1-3 hours. Our technicians are already on the road completing regular appointments and can often extend their route to reach you. Weekend service (Saturday 8 AM - 6 PM, Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM): response times vary — Saturday mornings are our busiest weekend period. Sunday service is typically the fastest response due to lower overall demand. Holiday service: available on most statutory holidays with slightly extended response times. For all after-hours calls, our dispatcher provides an estimated arrival window when you call.

After-Hours Pricing

After-hours service includes a premium reflecting the extended-hours staffing and dispatch. This premium is clearly communicated when you call — no surprise charges on your invoice. The premium applies to the labour component only; parts pricing is the same regardless of when service is performed. We provide a written estimate before any work begins, including the after-hours premium clearly shown. If your situation can safely wait until regular hours, our dispatcher will tell you and you can choose to schedule during standard hours at the lower rate.

When After-Hours Is the Right Call

Call after-hours if your heating has failed and indoor temperatures will drop to uncomfortable levels overnight, you have no hot water and cannot wait until morning, your system is making dangerous-sounding noises (grinding, screeching), or you discover a water leak from your equipment. Do not call after-hours for routine maintenance, efficiency questions, or non-urgent issues that can wait until regular hours — you will pay a premium for service that does not require immediate attention. If you are unsure, call us — our dispatcher helps you assess urgency at no charge.

Safety Reminder

If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide or believe there is an immediate danger, leave the property and contact emergency services or the appropriate gas emergency authority. Do not remain inside — exit the building immediately and call for help from outside.
